In the late 1980s, soccer in the United States was still in its infancy. There was no professional outdoor league, and youth participation was sporadic across the country. Recognizing an opportunity in a rapidly growing sport, Andy Bennett and a team of like-minded entrepreneurs founded what would become the largest youth soccer coaching company in the U.S. What started as a regional summer camp provider in 1988 under the name British Soccer Camps evolved into Challenger Sports, a full-service, national powerhouse catering to thousands of youth clubs, coaches, and players across the country.
